Tourists and electronics buyers visiting Shenzhen are being systematically targeted by fraudulent bars in the Shekou and Nanshan areas. Victims report being lured in by fake romantic interest, then presented with massively inflated bills — sometimes 10,000 to 50,000+ RMB — and pressured or physically intimidated into paying. Some establishments are reportedly linked to organized crime groups. Do not enter unmarked or unknown bars in Shekou alone.
